Weekly Report from the Board Meeting at Holman Prison 1.3.18

Before the year closed out we received Dr. Katie Owens-Murphy’s draft of her proposal for her publisher for a book called A Wings of Hope Collection. It will span the 29 years of our existence documented by our writings and achievements. Dr. Katie Owens-Murphy speaks of being humbled by the work this organization has done over the years and by “the beauty of the writings that have emerged from this impressive group of thinkers, movers, and shakers.” We are humbled by her insights, her incredible diligence required to research and write this proposal and by her vision which believes that this could be. And we remember our founders and those who are no longer with us and believe this will also be a fitting memorial for them.

Thank you to those who have already written to Governor Ivey on behalf of Vernon Madison and Doyle Lee Hamm. We shared two of those letters with you but do want to assure you that phone calls and emails also help. Most of us make at least one phone call a day, so how about picking up that phone right now, dialing Governor Ivey’s office at 1-334-242-7100 and asking the pleasant secretary to ask the Governor to grant clemency to Vernon Madison and Doyle Lee Hamm. It really is as simple as that!

Vernon Madison’s execution date is 1.25.18 and  Doyle Lee Hamm's execution date is 2.22.18. The Talking Points for both men are up on our Facebook page as well as on our website under Execution Alerts. Please contact Governor Ivey and BE THE OTHER VOICE!

See you next week!
